An absolutely fascinating and unique early Transitional Rapier, having chiseled steel hilt mounts with warriors and battle scenes to the large kidney shaped guard, fine steel wire grip topped with a chiseled steel head pommel. Mounted with a sturdy single edged blade of unique configuration, being triangular in section with an extra-thick spine decorated with engraved and etched motives. solid and intact overall on this wonderful and rare early example.
