    Description

    We are pleased to offer an original WW1 Red Cross poster titled "Red Cross First Aid". The poster goes on to state that "1,000.000 persons have learned the right way-The Red Cross way of cheating death from accidents. Your Membership helps save Human life." This poster is approx 20" W X 30 H", and is marked near the bottom left corner with a "9". In addition there are 3 different B&Wphotos that show a rescue attempt at the beach, an accident affecting an arm, and finally a women being treated for heat exhaustion. This poster was one of many displayed by the owners of a local variety store here in New Hampshire. According to the original store owners descendents, in order to preserve this poster along with many others they inherited, sometime in the 1950's the posters were preserved by covering them in plastic and placed on a poster backing.Thankfully it was shrink wrapped and never affixed to the backing itself. Considering this poster is close to 100 years old, it is in excellent condition with no bent corners, tears, ,or significant creasing. There is a somewhat faded black line above the "Red Cross First Aid" lettering and extends acrooss the poster that may or may not be removable but in my opinion doesn't distract from its overall appearance.
