Description

Up for sale is this antique 1796 handwritten maritime trade note written by Samuel Prince of Boston.  Prince was the commander of a cargo ship called "Thetis." In my researches I found that Samuel Prince, the Thetis, and the port of Havre (France) are all mentioned together in a few different books printed about cases & claims relating to one William Vans.
Here is my translation of the note:
Havre May 29th 1796
Gents-

The document is overall in good condition with some typical signs of wear and age.  There is a small acid-free archival tape repair to the backside.  The paper measures approximately 5 inches by 6 1/2 inches.
Please look at the scans to note the condition.
