This darling woven piqué cotton skirt is hand-made. I bought it from a British dealer 20 years ago. The fabric is so cheerful and wonderful and does wash well.
Interesting use of cotton picqué. Often these days you see it in polo shirts, sporty clothes, but not as a woven fabric for print as much. So, it's different in that regard. You can inspect the photos and see there are little areas that were patched by a former owner. I left it more or less as close to the original as possible, but did replace the grosgrain waist band, as the original waist band had no closure and was ripped.
The fact that it's a full circle is such a plus. Some skirts purport to being a circle and are not. This one is.
The style and the fact that it's handmade suggest the 1950s. You don't see this kind of skirt much these days.
