Description
Up for auction:
this early 17th Century German made powder horn for a musket.
It has been made out of flatened lanthorn which has been engrved / scrimshawed
with a Biblical scene at one side and geometrical circles on the other side.
The mounts are made of iron.
The body has 2 suspension rings.
The charger is a work of art, looking at the period when manufactured.
Both springs are present and strong.
Look at the nice scroll shaped thumbpiece!
Total length is 340 mm (13.4 Inches) - the bottom part measures 110 mm (4.3 Inches).
Condition: the horn has a good strong surface except for a minor age crack to the front.
Charger is complete with strong springs.
Some play to the mounts but that is not strange according to the 400+ years of age.
A rare specimen in todays market!
Shipping times are much longer than eBay estimates.
