    Description

    17th - 18th Century German Executioners Sword
This interesting German executioner is quite unusual not having the traditional gallows and wheel of justice engraved in the blade.
The sword is in overall great condition having some very light play with the grip and guard.
Its likely that sword sword played some part in the justice system or may have been used during processions.
The hilt is comprised of a oval pommel with a studded grip which has the majority of felt missing.  The hilt is fitted with straight quillons with a imposing quillon block.
The double edge spatula blade is marked with the Bayern stamp and three crosses. The blades edge is blunted which could indicate this was done for display purposes.
    Dimensions:

    Hilt: 23 cm
