    :
    A large 16 century Italian Cinquedea.
    The handle is comprised traditional cinquedea type hilt , the grip  made of horn. The pommel is iron cap and appears to have had some damage to end cap, this has been filled with copper. The dagger has set of steel /iron quillons curving downwards, these show extensive signs of use and measure a total of 16.5 cm. The overall weight is 1.3 Kg.
    The blade is 7 cm wide with a diamond cross section, the double edge blade also shows extenisive use on the edge and sharpening marks.
    These dagger becoming very hard to find. Cinquedea daggers where only made for a short time making them one of rarest daggers in the world.
    This is a truly amazing piece which should belong in a museum and sought after historical weapons.
