16th Century Electoral Saxony Left Handed Dagger
This exquisite highly sought-after Electoral Saxony dagger is a rare find in fine condition and probably from around 1580-1590.
The hilt is comprised of a multi-faceted bell-shaped pommel, a wire wrap grip and a icon quillons which curve down and are raised up with spatulated ends. The guard is also fitted with a side ring which ties in with the overall design which is all blued/ blacked.
The dagger has a heavy double edge fighting blade which is incredibly unique having a short fuller in the ricasso and the blade then converts into a diamond shape cross-section.
Blade condition is excellent and marked.
