    This is a rare and unusual mid 16th century Cabasset Morion of one piece construction with medium high comb of pronounced castellated ridge.
    Weighing 2.95 pounds, the armourer who forged this helmet displayed exceptional skill. The interior retains rough from the hammer and he raised the comb with the ridges without holes.
    The rim is with piecrust decoration. The helmet is further adorned with 13 steel rosettes.
    Condition is smooth gray steel with period repairs that guarantee authenticity and add further to the romance of this Renaissance survival.
    Most armour was melted and made into cooking implements and other steel objects.
